Become a soldier or a predator
Predator: Hunting Grounds is an immersive asymmetrical shooter game from IllFonic set in the remote jungles of the world. In this premium game, predators have invaded the Earth and are out to stalk their prey—humans. You can play as a member of an elite Fireteam, who will need to completely infiltrate a base, complete a series of tasks, and extricate themselves from the situation safely. All that while trying to thwart the predators.
Of course, you also have the option to play as a predator in Predator: Hunting Grounds, hunting down your next meal using deadly alien technology.
Hunt or be hunted
Predator: Hunting Grounds is based on the blockbuster movie Predator. It aims to capture the lethal cat-and-mouse tension of the first film while introducing an asymmetrical brand of multiplayer action. In each match, the game will throw five players into a jungle arena. One of the players will be the predator, while the remaining four will form a Fireteam of elite soldiers.
As part of the elite soldiers, you will be tasked with carrying out random objectives that typically involve hunting AI-controlled targets, collecting items, and defending control points from waves of guerrillas and rogue ops. Once you complete the missions, you will then need to get on the chopper and await exfiltration. Safety is not guaranteed, though, as the predator will hunt you down as you try to accomplish your tasks.
On the other hand, if you opt to play the predator, you will carefully stalk the prey. Where the soldiers’ play is similar to other first-person shooters like Call of Duty, the alien gameplay is far more dynamic in terms of movement and combat abilities. There is a vast array of alien technology that you can use to hunt, too, such as the Plasma Caster and Combistick, among others.
The end goal of the predator is to annihilate the four members of the Fireteam. However, don’t be too complacent just because the predator appears to be practically unstoppable in your first few matches. In truth, a concentrated salvo of bullets is enough to slay an alien. Moreover, you will still gain experience points, no matter how you perform during a match. You can use them to unlock more customization and loadout options.
High production value
Like the movie it was based on, Predator: Hunting Grounds boasts a high production value. The character models come in great detail and variety. The jungle environments are also convincingly dense. On top of that, the predators move with ease through the trees and easily traverse the canopy of the treetops, unlike in Illfonic’s previous game Friday the 13th, which is incredibly clunky.
The music and costume design are also laudable as they come from the Predator films themselves. With this, the entire game feels authentic. The game also comes with various character classes, which complement the other three soldiers. There are also a variety of weapons that can be used for both offense and defense. However, the frame rate tends to dip sometimes. Mature content is also not suitable for young audiences to play.

Best Predator video game adaptation
Predator: Hunting Grounds is arguably the best video game adaptation of the Predator franchise. The game captures the thrill of the hunt and pursuit, whether you play as the soldier or the predator. It has a heavier focus on environmental gameplay and less complexity in terms of the monster’s abilities, which makes it different from other co-op monster-vs-squad games. It also features various maps, weapons, and classes for more excitement. All in all, it’s a game worth spending your weekend with.
